In early October, I had the honor of documenting A&K’s unforgettable wedding at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, one of the most breathtaking luxury wedding venues in Hawaii. As a destination wedding photographer based in California, I’ve captured many celebrations across the islands — but this one truly took my breath away.

A Heart-Shaped Ceremony at Four Seasons Oahu

When I stepped into the ceremony space, I was stunned: the guests’ chairs were arranged in a perfect heart shape, creating the most romantic view from above — a design that symbolized love from every angle.

Before the ceremony began, the bride added a playful twist: she hid the wedding rings randomly under the guests’ seats. During the ceremony, everyone was invited to check under their chairs — and one lucky guest in a pink dress found the rings and joyfully delivered them to the couple. This creative touch turned a traditional ring exchange into a fun, unforgettable surprise, filling the ceremony with laughter and excitement.

Emotional Moments and Family Love

As A&K exchanged their vows, they reminisced about their journey together — from how they met, to all they’ve overcome, to this beautiful day by the ocean. Tears streamed down their faces, and even the groom’s father couldn’t hold back his emotions. His wife gently held his hand to comfort him — a quiet yet powerful moment of love that touched everyone’s hearts.

Hawaii Wedding Reception Full of Fun & Connection

The cocktail hour and dinner reception were just as meaningful and joyful. From fun games to thoughtful details, every part of the wedding reflected how much A&K cared for their guests — friends and family who had flown from all over the world to celebrate their love in Hawaii.

The wedding felt like a tropical carnival: walls lined with personalized woven beach bags with each guest’s name, custom poker-style playing cards printed with the couple’s engagement photos (a nod to their love for Texas Hold’em!), a retro photo booth bus, a mini golf game, and even a “ring the bell for champagne” station! Later in the evening, the crowd joined in a lively auction game with amazing prizes — it was pure joy from start to finish.

Thoughtful Details from California to Hawaii

What impressed me most was how A&K brought so many special items all the way from California — including 80 hand-crafted wedding favor boxes that looked like tiny pieces of art. Every detail showed their dedication and love for their guests.

Oahu Four Seasons Resort & Lanikuhonua Wedding ｜ Jaeryeong & Daehyun

Last weekend, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful Korean wedding at the Four Seasons Oʻahu and Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute. Nestled along the breathtaking Ko Olina coastline, this celebration took place against a backdrop of endless ocean views, lush green lawns, and swaying palm trees — truly the picture-perfect setting for a Hawaii destination wedding.

We were so lucky with the weather: bright sunshine, blue skies, and soft white clouds that made every frame even more vibrant. From the ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean to the laughter-filled reception on the lawn, every moment radiated joy, love, and connection.

Becoming Jaeryeong and Daehyun’s wedding photographer was a gift. I’ll never forget our very first Zoom call — even before we finished, the bride smiled and said: “I already knew I wanted to book you, but after talking, I’m even more certain. Please just send over the contract — I don’t need to consider anyone else.” Her words touched me deeply. That kind of trust is the greatest honor for a photographer. It gives us the freedom to create wholeheartedly, to capture not only the beauty of the day but also the emotions that will be remembered for a lifetime.

This wedding was filled with happiness, laughter, and countless sweet moments. I’m so grateful that Jaeryeong and Daehyun entrusted me to document their day in such a stunning setting. Together, we created memories that will last forever.
